The NARS Pure Matte campaign, photographed by Creative Director and Founder François Nars, features Canadian model Heather Marks. Under Nars’s direction, makeup artist Diane Kendal designed a makeup look that emphasized a bold and matte lip. The end result is audacious, sultry and sophisticated.
Kendal began by applying Siberia Sheer Matte Foundation to the center of the face and blended outward. Vanilla Concealer masked imperfections. Snow Loose Powder was pressed into skin and the Botan Brush buffed away excess powder. Using the Yachiyo Brush, she applied Desire Blush to the apples of the cheeks and blended up towards the temples. For the eyes, Abyssinia Single Eyeshadow was brushed onto the lids with the Eyeshader Brush, followed by Blondie Single Eyeshadow into the crease with the Large Dome Brush to achieve depth. The inner corners were highlighted with the left side of All About Eve Duo Eyeshadow using the Eye Contour Brush. Iceberg Eyeliner Pencil lined the inner membrane of the lower lash line and Nuits Blanches Eyeliner Stylo created an impactful upper lash line. Brows were defined by applying Blondie Single Eyeshadow with the Brow Brush. To complete the look, two coats of Larger than Life Lengthening Mascara were applied to the lashes. Jungle Red Lipliner Pencil was used to define the shape of the lips.
To create the luscious matte hue, Vesuvio Pure Matte Lipstick was swiped directly onto the lips.
Over 15 years ago, François Nars created a collection of 12 perfectly edited lipsticks. Since then, the brand has created many iconic products; however, Nars’s passion for lipstick never wavered. Introducing Pure Matte – the newest
addition to the NARS lip category. This innovative, matte lipstick has intense, stay-true color, so lips look lush and vibrant. This exquisitely blended formula strikes the perfect harmony between optimal color, an ultra-matte finish and a hydrating lip treatment.
Pure Matte’s luxuriously rich texture glides on effortlessly, without drag, cakiness or resistance. Defying the traditional challenge of long-wearing lipsticks, it won’t dry out lips. Rich in antioxidants, including Vitamin E and Acai Oil, Pure Matte nourishes and conditions lips. Wild Mango Butter’s advanced moisturizing properties work to repair lips from dryness and scaling, leaving lips feeling supple and soft. Six deeply pigmented colors go on soft and creamy for an audacious pout: Volga (Deep Aubergine), Bangkok (Soft Rose), Tonkin (Cinnamon Plum), Terre De Feu (Black Cherry), Tashkent (Nude Beige),
Vesuvio (Full Bodied Red). Each shade takes only one swipe to build the perfect kissable opacity.
Pure Matte is distinguished by a soft-touch, modern, sleek slim stick component, delivering convenient application. When used alone or with other NARS lip products, it provides a high-drama payoff. Apply directly to lips or with the Retractable Lip Brush.

For years, those of us with sensitive skin have had little choice when it comes to fragranced bathing products. The majority of mainstream sensitive skin products have avoided fragrances all together, providing less of a pampering experience. So where’s the treat in that?
Imperial Leather believes that people with sensitive skin deserve to get the same result from their beauty products as everyone else. This Spring, the brand launched SkinKind, a new hypoallergenic range. Developed in conjunction with its own in-house fragrance experts, SkinKind is specifically designed to provide a fragranced yet allergen free option for the most sensitive of skins.
The new formulation provides a balanced cleanser that is in tune with your skin and doesn’t strip or harm it with harsh chemicals. The range also contains natural moisturising ingredients giving you soft, smooth, skin from every wash. Dermatologically approved, the SkinKind family of products includes shower body washes and bath creams for both men and women.
Caroline Reynolds, senior brand manager for Imperial Leather explains: “We want to offer anyone with sensitive skin the opportunity to have an enjoyable fragrant shower without the fear of irritation.
“Traditionally there has not been much choice in the mainstream market and sufferers have been frustrated and had to make do with fragrance free products. There was no relaxing sense of luxury when it came to products for sensitive skin.
“At Imperial Leather, fine fragrance is a unique and essential component in the development of all our products. The new SkinKind range is no different and the allergen free fragrance is a fundamental ingredient that exudes luxury. A product for sensitive skin that smells good.”
The SkinKind range is made with light, natural moisturising ingredients and allergen free fragrances* to enable those with sensitive skin to indulge freely, knowing that their skin is clean, healthy and cared for.
The SkinKind range of products includes two Body Washes for women; hydrate, a creamy luxurious wash with cotton extract and oat milk and refresh, a light invigorating wash made using cucumber and aloe vera. The hair and body wash variant developed especially for men is restore with ingredients including vitamin b5 and marine extracts. The range is priced at £1.80 and will be available at all good supermarkets.
This year, a key A/W beauty trend is MINAMILISM; stripped back beauty is en vogue and due to be a big hit! While natural nudes made big news at London Fashion Week, it’s not just the catwalk models that are going back to basics!
ARK Age Aware Skincare has launched a remove pre-skin cleanse to really destroy the dirt, leaving you bare-faced and beautiful! The multi-fruit lipid blend gently yet efficiently removes make-up, daily debris and excess sebum whilst softening and nourishing the skin. The pre-skin cleanse also reduces dryness with deep moisturisation, preparing the surface for cleansing using high-potency active ingredients including:
- Fatty acids including Omega 3, 6 and 9
- Antibacterial Margosa Leaf
- Zi Cao – An Ayurvedic herb to soothe sensitive skin
ARK Age Aware Skincare is a British beauty brand that introduces a revolutionary way to look at your skin with its innovative formulas and supplements appropriate to your age rather than skin type. Shula Starkey, skincare expert and founder of ARK says:
“If you don’t cleanse, you haven’t got clean skin which allows the build up of bacteria, resulting in skin break outs. What’s more, if you don’t cleanse properly or thoroughly this can often be the start of any future skin problems. Cleanse and moisturise at the very least, but I would recommend also using a pre-cleanse oil to take off surface debris before continuing with the rest of your skincare routine.”
Apply ARK remove pre-skin cleanse with dry hands on to dry skin before cleansing. Massage in gently all over the face before adding water to form a thin liquid emulsion. Continue massaging, and then rise off with warm water.
