No7 Launch New Lip Range With Poppy King

No7 has collaborated with lipstick legend Poppy King to create an exclusive range of lipsticks and matching lipglosses set to change womens’ views of lip colour forever.

“I have been obsessed with lipstick since I was 7 years old and played dress up with my mother’s make-up. At 18 I started my first lipstick brand in Australia, and I now live in New Y City. Working with No7 is a dream come true for me as I have always been a fan of the iconic brand’s rich heritage and elegance.

“The range has been developed to bring together the hallmarks of the No7 brand and my own loves. I took cues for the shades from the No7 archives and colours that have been key to the No7 brand then mixed these with my enthusiasm for retro
Bakelite jewellery. The striking spotty packaging was inspired by the mistress of flirtation, Marilyn Monroe’s beauty spot and Man Ray’s lip motifs.

Using the iconic number “seven” for the line, I have identified the top seven reasons why women love wearing lip color and I have designed a shade to match each reason. My lipsticks have been designed to look rich and full yet offer a sheer tint
while the lipglosses are super smooth and can be worn on their own or over the matching lipsticks.

I have noticed over the past decade that many women are in the habit of wearing the same lip colours because they are frightened of colour. The concept of my collaboration with No7 is to invite women back to the joys of lip colour and
encourage them to introduce some wearable new shades into their lives. I am determined to make the glamour of past eras accessible and wearable to the modern woman.

To celebrate the new range I’ve been working with the wonderful Lisa Eldridge, No7 Creative Consultant who has created seven brand new looks to accompany each lip shade. Whether you’re a lipstick lover or total colour novice there is something here for everyone!”

Professional Skincare at Home with Celebrity Favourite INSPA

Mesotherapy specialist, Institute BCN has created a mesocosmetic daily skincare range called INSPA.

Institute BCN, are established experts in developing mesotherapeutic treatments for dermatologist and cosmetologists. Based on this experience they have created INSPA utilising the same active ingredients used in the professional line, INMED. The topical range will enable patients to not only maintain and improve on the results obtained from the professional treatment but can give some of the same fantastic effects when used by themselves at home.

The INSPA range consists of four specially formulated products to target skin ageing, lack of nutrients, pigmentation and cellulite:

MesoAge - Hyaluronic Treatment Day Cream 40ml £73.00
Hyaluronic Acid is a natural moisture-retaining filler that depletes with age and results in the skin losing elasticity, becoming dehydrated and prone to deep wrinkles. MesoAge non-oily gel replenishes Hyaluronic Acid to help re-hydrate and re-plump the skin for a healthy, youthful glow; protecting the epidermis (the outer layer of the skin), preventing water loss, filling the lines and smoothing the appearance of wrinkles.

MesoVita - Vitamin Treatment Night Cream 40ml £82.00
MesoVita targets the skin cells with vital bio-nutrition to revitalize the tone and texture of damaged skin, stimulate cell renewal and nourish deep down for a healthy glow. Antioxidant action also helps to protect the skin against ageing free-radicals. This nourishing cream is rich in essential acids including polyunsaturated fatty acids and omega-3 & 6, the nano-encapsulated vitamins used in mesotherapy (A, E, C, F, B-complex and K), and the minerals manganese, iron, zinc, magnesium and calcium.

MesoBlanche – Melano Treatment 40ml £68.00
MesoBlanche is a depigmentation cream that interferes in melanin synthesis to diminish: hyperpigmentation, target age spots, uneven pigmentation, blemishes and sun damage to leave skin healthy and flawless.
MesoBlanche increases cell production by activating cellular respiration and oxygenation, gently eliminating dead skin-cells, and contains plant extracts to soothe the skin. It also contains SPF 30 to protect against damaging UV rays.

MesoCell – Adipo Treatment 140ml £65.00
MesoCell cream helps to combat cellulite by accelerating the body’s natural fat reduction mechanisms; acting on tissues and microcirculation to help break down fat cells, interrupt the fat production mechanism and encouraging natural fat burning. MesoCell also boosts blood circulation, combats water retention and gently tones and tightens for smoother, stronger skin.

LP Skin Therapy

INTRODUCING LP SKIN THERAPY BY DR. LINDA PAPADOPOULOS - A SCIENTIFICALLY ADVANCED SKINCARE COLLECTION THAT WILL CHANGE THE WAY WOMEN THINK ABOUT THEIR SKIN . . .

With our lives becoming ever more stressful, the demands we make of ourselves are becoming apparent visually – on our skin. We accept that stress can cause skin conditions such as eczema – but research has shown that stress is also one of the biggest contributing factors to ageing skin.

Dr. Linda Papadopoulos is a PhD and world-renowned expert in Psychodermatology, the study of how the mind affects the skin. Now, using her knowledge and working with some of the best cosmetic scientists in their field, Dr. Linda has created LP Skin Therapy – a unique ‘skin shrink’ collection that not only works on giving skin the nutrients it needs to be healthy, but also encourages the ‘feel good’ chemicals in the body to de-stress the mind – and therefore the skin.

LP Skin Therapy tackles both the external factors that lead to skin deterioration – sun damage, free radicals – but also, crucially, tackles the equally important internal factors – stress and anxiety. When tense, the body produces cortisol which can increase the body’s metabolism – resulting in stress break outs and premature ageing.

Dr. Linda says, ‘stress can affect the health, condition and ageing process of our skin. Using scientific advances in skincare, we’ve been able to create a collection designed to help skin look rested, youthful, healthy and vibrant by working inside AND out – no-matter what life throws at you!’

LP Skin Therapy is based on a simple philosophy – a healthy mind means healthy skin. LP Skin Therapy is a perfect capsule skincare collection. Each item is a unique blend of ingredients, combining high performance actives and peptides to combat the signs of ageing with pioneering ingredients such as Nootropic cognitive enhancers. Nootropics are naturally derived, smart nutrients whose impact on the ability to counter the effects of stress can have a positive effect both physiologically and psychologically. Each delicious product is lightly fragranced with scents from Dr. Linda’s homeland of Cyprus, such as orange blossom, pomegranate and Cyprus lemons. It is suitable for all skin types.

LP Skin Therapy products are priced from £15 to £47 available at Harrods (from summer 2011) and QVC (www.qvcuk.com)

BROW TRENDS SUMMER 2011

Brows- last season it was all about an over sized, wild & bushy brow. This season, full brows are still on trend but now they are more tailored & groomed, the hairs aren't as wild and often they are slightly elongated and tapered at the ends creating a touch more drama.

This Spring/Summer’s full brows have a great arch that is both feminine and strong. Brow colour should be 1-2 shades lighter than hair colour and should be powdered across the whole brow rather than just used to fill in. A new trend is also to highlight under the brow, which makes it look more substantial and showcases the brow perfectly.

BROW TIPS 2011

What's the best way of finding your perfect shape?

The best way to find your perfect shape is go with what you have naturally. Have a look at the direction the hair in your brow grows. You can always experiment with shape by filling them in with makeup. If you have naturally thin eyebrows better to keep them sharp and clean underneath rather than trying to create something that’s not there or over plucking, as they might look sparse.

Tweezerman Brow Trends 2011

What's the best way to maintain your shape?

Have a professional shape your brows the first time. You can easily maintain your brows at home by following the line that they brow artist created for you.

Just tweeze strays using a slant precision tweezer, such as Tweezerman’s Slant Tweezer. Fill in brows with a touch of brow pencil or powder.

Is it better to tweeze a few stragglers often or have a big tidy-up every now and then?
Yes, it’s good to tweeze a few strays in between a big tidy up to keep your brows looking neat and clean all the time.

What if you over-tweeze?
You can use makeup in the mean time to fill in spots until they grow back.

Use a brow pencil or brow powder in short, even strokes in the direction of hair growth. The brow pencil or shadow should be within 1-2 shades of your natural brow colour.

When it comes to shaping your brows, are there any rules that you should always follow?

It’s always difficult to set a general rule because everyone’s face and brow shape differs. First, trim your brows before tweezing. It will accentuate your natural brow shape and give your brows a cleaner line.

Do not over-pluck. Always look straight ahead into the mirror when grooming. A Tweezerman 10X Magnifying Mirror is a great tool for detailed brow work.
