BROW TRENDS SUMMER 2011

Brows- last season it was all about an over sized, wild & bushy brow. This season, full brows are still on trend but now they are more tailored & groomed, the hairs aren't as wild and often they are slightly elongated and tapered at the ends creating a touch more drama.

This Spring/Summer’s full brows have a great arch that is both feminine and strong. Brow colour should be 1-2 shades lighter than hair colour and should be powdered across the whole brow rather than just used to fill in. A new trend is also to highlight under the brow, which makes it look more substantial and showcases the brow perfectly.

BROW TIPS 2011

What's the best way of finding your perfect shape?

The best way to find your perfect shape is go with what you have naturally. Have a look at the direction the hair in your brow grows. You can always experiment with shape by filling them in with makeup. If you have naturally thin eyebrows better to keep them sharp and clean underneath rather than trying to create something that’s not there or over plucking, as they might look sparse.

Tweezerman Brow Trends 2011

What's the best way to maintain your shape?

Have a professional shape your brows the first time. You can easily maintain your brows at home by following the line that they brow artist created for you.

Just tweeze strays using a slant precision tweezer, such as Tweezerman’s Slant Tweezer. Fill in brows with a touch of brow pencil or powder.

Is it better to tweeze a few stragglers often or have a big tidy-up every now and then?
Yes, it’s good to tweeze a few strays in between a big tidy up to keep your brows looking neat and clean all the time.

What if you over-tweeze?
You can use makeup in the mean time to fill in spots until they grow back.

Use a brow pencil or brow powder in short, even strokes in the direction of hair growth. The brow pencil or shadow should be within 1-2 shades of your natural brow colour.

When it comes to shaping your brows, are there any rules that you should always follow?

It’s always difficult to set a general rule because everyone’s face and brow shape differs. First, trim your brows before tweezing. It will accentuate your natural brow shape and give your brows a cleaner line.

Do not over-pluck. Always look straight ahead into the mirror when grooming. A Tweezerman 10X Magnifying Mirror is a great tool for detailed brow work.
