CLEANLINESS IS NEXT TO GODLINESS - LIMITED EDITION HEAVEN AND HELL ’GRAFFITI’ SOAP

“I first discovered this natural, beautifully packaged liquid soap in France. The French take their products seriously and not just any soap gets the denomination as it must be made up mostly of natural oils in order to be truly Marseillaise." Gwyneth Paltrow

Compagnie de Provence Graffiti Liquid Marseille Soap £16.50

Keep it clean for 2011 with Compagnie de Provence’s limited edition Heaven and Hell ‘Graffiti’ soaps, representing the urban face of France’s most legendary region. This year, the Marseille- based soap and skincare brand invited graffiti artist iLK™ to ‘tag’ its classic glass bottles in homage to the wall art flowering across the Provençal capital, where hip hop and graffiti culture
reign supreme. France’s Banksy, iLK™’s work has also featured on collections by Lacoste and Nike.

Inspired by Marseille’s reputation as a city of contrasts, the ‘Heaven’ and ‘Hell’ graffiti-illustrated bottles symbolise the city’s two extremes: the chaotic buzz of the working port versus the purity and tranquillity of the Mediterranean sea. The limited edition bottles contain a specially fragranced liquid Marseille soap (Savon de Marseille) combining the sparkling sharpness of citrus fruits with vibrant woody notes and green top notes. Each 500ml pump action glass bottle is presented in a beautifully illustrated gift box.

A cult staple in French kitchens and bathrooms for over twenty years, Compagnie de Provence singlehandedly revitalized the ancient Marseille soap industry, transforming the iconic cube into the first ever liquid soap, which is still made in cauldrons according to centuries-old tradition.
